Here’s my story and it wasn’t paved in gold…
At the age of 19 years old I started selling cars AND I SUCKED AT IT! (See picture below in 2000)
The one quality I did have is I wouldn’t give up and I was determined to become great at this sales thing.
I made a promise to myself that I would do what ever it takes to become the best at this
Fast forward after 10 years in the auto industry I was consistently in the top 3% in sales for the dealership
But I felt unfulfilled, and I knew I was destined to raise the bar in life and press on to my next adventure
I teamed up with 2 partners and started selling flooring and cabinetry door to door
With a decade of sales experience under my belt this new adventure exploded, and we quickly opened a showroom in Chicago, which then turned into 2 showrooms, then three…
All at the same time I was dabbling into Real Estate.
Fixing up a house here and there for a small profit.
Then in 2008 the market crashed!
All the hard work I did to build this successful business went right down the tubes
I was feeling discouraged.
Did I have enough energy in me to continue to do this?
YES!
I took my last few dollars I had and started investing in real estate full time.
But of course, this had its own challenges …
I ran out of money really quick
I was at the mercy of a realtor to find me deals
How can I scale this business without me working 24/7?
So, I do what I always do.
I used my ability to always find Creative Solutions to hard problems. (a skill I honed in my years of sales)
I learned how to make his own deal flow by going to direct to sellers and not relying on a realtor
I ran out of money fast to he devised a way to creatively use sellers as his bank
I learned out of necessity in order to scale to millions of dollars in property you need a system and to automate it.
I also learned the WHO not the HOW. By finding people who are smarter or more ahead in the game than yourself. Putting those people into the tasks that I can’t do propelled by own business.
After I had mastered these 4 key elements to my business, life was never the same.!
I was able to turn 1 deal a year into 3 deals per month
I run the business it doesn’t run me
I am able to help other investors see deals where they never would have before.
If I could go back in time and tell the young Frank anything, I would tell him 1 thing…. NEVER GIVE UP!
